I'm also trying to get into needle lace, but I'm doing it slightly bacwards
from you. I am intrigued by the more free-flowing designs in punto di aria,
but what really speaks to me is reticella and reticella-like laces. I am
starting out with basic needle lace, but eventually I want to move to pulled
thread embroidery to make reticella lace that way. Unfortunately there
really are not a lot of needle lace books out there. I don't have much
practice yet, but I am also quite disappointed when I complete a needle lace
piece and it looks nothing like it was supposed to:( Hopefully things will
improve with practice, once I have more time, that is!
