My two pennyworth on CRB checks.

I too have been CRB checked for my Adult Ed teaching that I started this year and also for my son's scout group. Whilst I agree that we need these checks to make sure that those with convictions are not allowed access to children or vulnerable adults the recent case of the nursery worker shows the glaring flaw. Whilst the CRB check does tell us about convictions it does not, and can not tell you whether a person has these tendencies if they have never been caught or questioned in connection with this type of offence.

Therefore the CRB checks will never rule out this and people seem to forget this.

I believe the CRB check is £35 to have done. It may be worth considering whether needed or not for the peace of mind of both yourself and the childrens parents.
