Nope - mine stay in real cork too.  In fact my best pricker has lasted in
it's cork from Australia, 16+ years in the low humidity of Colorado, and is
still in the same cork in WA.

But if memory serves me right - it's in a champagne cork, not a wine one.

It's real, dinky di cork, not the plastic cork you sometimes get now in wine
bottles.

My Condolences to Margaret Tite's family too.  I didn't ever meet her, but I
have 1 or 2 of her books, and they contain lovely patterns.  She'll be
missed by her family and many lacemakers I'm sure.
