"I recall seeing a recipe in a vintage publication that called for using
gin
to clean lace!  If I ever find that citation again--Digital Archives"

I
wonder if this was to disinfect, for disease, or mold/mildew?   I know rubbing
alcohol can cut grease, but I can't say I would recommend gin, esp. for lace
to have a long life.  I am always curious about old laundering techniques,
tho' most don't apply to lace.  :)

Best,
