The only reason I can afford to go this year is because I live an hour away from Salt Lake City. I considered going to convention when it was in Portland, as I have a sister who lives in Portland, but decided the travel expense would still make it out of my price range. I teach lace to a handful of students and none of them will be attending the convention due to the expense. I realize that it costs a lot of money to put on a convention like this. There are a great number of people who would love to attend convention, but simply cannot afford it.
