I've been mulling over what another option could be for handling incoming email other than the current way of taking up a whole email domain. One idea that I had is for using extensions so that a single email address on a domain could be used. For example, with the current design, I would have to send email/SMS to [email protected] but by using mail extensions, one could do something like [email protected]. I had to designate a special transport in postfix to handle the domain that I have laconica on anyway and doing it this way doesn't tie up a whole email domain.
