Should you get an SMS message be sent if a member, not necessarily someone you follow, posts a notice to a group that you do follow? Under subscriptions you can control whether you get an SMS or Jabber update when a member you follow makes a post. You don't have the same control for groups that you follow. I did a search on Trac and don't see any active tickets requesting this be added. Should this be added?
