Because my site is running behind a Firewall, which only allows HTTPS-Traffic.

OK - but in my case because of the Firewall-Restrictions it won't help (I can't 
modify the restrictions).

To say it in your words: My CSS-Files are just as desperately important as any 
other valuable files (RSS, JS, JPG, ...) which are already served via HTTPS.

I guess Ticket #1552 (http://laconi.ca/trac/ticket/1552) covers the same issue.
