Do the log files (apache, mysql) show something interesting at the time this
happens? Did you try changing the permissions of the config file to
read-only?

Subject: [Laconica-dev] obscure behaviour

This is weird:

I’ll set the scene.

I have an install (0.8.1dev) I run some daemons, and maildaemon.php (as a
postfix delivery)

I run a few other website on this box too .. wordpress mostly

I run courier mail server, auth’d against mysql, and some jabber stuff
(ejabberd, pymsnt, pyaimt, pyicqt) also auth’ing against mysql

Mysql gets a fairly good old workout.

The box is a p4 3.2gb with 1.5gb

3 times now I have had mysql run out of connections (hit max_connections ..
set at 100)

I suspect this is probably due to googlebot, plus a combination of visits,
incoming mail etc .. all hammering the mysql db

Everything that uses the mysql db throws an error, except laconic which does
the strangest thing.

It deletes config.php

Possible things I’ve thought about:

1) Laconica has a security hole allowing someone to do this

2) Laconica has a “just incase overwrite the config”

3) Some other weird thing

Fortunately for me I have a backup machine sitting in the same rack, so I
restart mysql, restore the config.php and I’m back in business

Has anyone else experienced things like this?

Is there something I’m missing?

T’is weird .. I know

HALP :-)
