Dear List, I am running ldap-account-manager 3.0.0 on Debian Lenny. I upgraded from previous versions. When I add a new user in LAM no homedirectory is created and no warnings/errors appear in the LAM log (loglevel 8).
Also: getent group : Domain Admins:*:512:root Domain Users:*:513:olaf Domain Guests:*:514: Domain Computers:*:515: Administrators:*:544:root Account Operators:*:548: Print Operators:*:550: Backup Operators:*:551: Replicators:*:552: While: net rpc group members "Domain Users" Enter root's password: ARTEFACT\test ARTEFACT\olaf (please note: not all users in LAM seem to be a member here) net groupmap list Domain Admins (MYSID-512) -> Domain Admins Domain Users (MYSID-2027) -> Domain Users Domain Guests (MYSID-514) -> Domain Guests Domain Computers (MYSID-515) -> Domain Computers Administrators (MYsmallSID-544) -> Administrators Account Operators (MYsmallSID-548) -> Account Operators Print Operators (MYsmallSID-550) -> Print Operators Backup Operators (MYsmallSID-551) -> Backup Operators Replicators (MYsmallSID-552) -> Replicators When I look in LAM: under "Domain Users": selected users: olaf Available users: administrator, nobody, root ok. This is unclear: The 3 available users are according to net rpc group members "Domain Users" indeed no members. But this is also true for user "admin: (the LAM admin user). And a lot of the users listed with rpc group members are not in that group according to LAM! Actually, I am the only user that is! The difference between user "olaf" and the others is the UID/GID which is outside the LAM/LDAP range as the user was created before LDAP/LAM was installed. QUESTION Why are not all the users listed/available? Does this have to do with the fact that "Domain Users" has GID 2027 instead of 513 ? (no idea why/how this happened) Answer: probably not. For some reason I have a "Domain users" and a "Domain Users", when I change the "Windows group" in the samba3 extension for groups in DN: *cn=Domain Users,ou=Groups,dc=artefact,dc=com *It makes no difference. So I am still puzzled. Any pointers much appreciated. Thanks in advance, Olaf ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Beautiful is writing same markup.
