did you successfully run the lamdaemon test (Tools -> Tests -> Lamdaemon
test)?

If it reports no errors, did you activate a checkbox on the tab Unix to
create a home directory?
You can manage the home directories also after account creation. Simply
edit the user and there will be a button "Check home directories" on the
Unix tab.
