the third digit was intended for patch versions. But this happened only
one time since five years. Therefore, future LAM releases will have a
two digit version. If a patch is really needed then it will get a three
digit version (e.g. 3.6.1).

So my hope is that LAM will remain as stable as it was the past years. ;-)
