Hi Frank,
thanks for the info. I will recheck the template files that required
parameters are preset.
Best regards

hi roland,
yes, the lines "modules: posixAccount_*_*GeneratorUsers: range" where
missing in my config-file:
/var/lib/ldap-account-manager/config/lam.conf
however, it is not enough to _visit_ the page "module settings". instead
*all* the pages
- "general settings"
- "account types"
- "modules"
- "module settings"
have to be visited *and* the button "save" on each of them has to be
pressed. each execution of the page related button "save" adds some
config lines to lam.conf. finally the module-settings-save-function
generated the missing "posixAccount_*" lines.
the problem is solved. thank you!
some addtional thoughts:
obviously LAM presents in its GUI a state that differs from the state
stored in lam.conf. i think the better concept is "the GUI presents the
config file as it is". if the config file lacks important preconditions,
the config file reader should detect this, inform the user about the
missing elements and ask the user for his permission to repair the
config file.
but maybe you have a different concept.
thank you and best regards
frank

Hi Frank,
I think you miss the following lines in the file:
modules: posixAccount_user_uidGeneratorUsers: range
modules: posixAccount_host_uidGeneratorUsers: range
modules: posixAccount_group_gidGeneratorUsers: range
Looks like you never entered the module settings tab before saving the
server profile. I fixed the default values for the next release.
Please try to save when you are on module settings tab and reedit an
account.
Best regards
Roland
