Hi Fran,
the passwords will not be stored in /etc/passwd or /etc/shadow but in
LDAP (attribute userPassword). Please check your LAM server profile ->
tab Module settings -> Unix -> Password hash type. Maybe you chose a
hash type that is not supported by your LDAP server (try SSHA as a start).
If this does not help then do an LDIF export of a working and a
non-working user to see how they differ.

when I create users in LAM, it does not add them to the passwd file on
Ubuntu Server 24.04, and therefore I cannot log in with the created users.
On the other hand, when I add users using ldif files with openldap, it adds
them and I can log in.
