I just drilled and shaped the holes in the nose ribs as close to the leading
edge as possible.

My main reason for running the conduit is to facilitate adding wires in the
future.
Without it, wires could get hung up going thru the holes in the ribs.

And yes, leaving the leading edge dry is an additional benefit. Also having
the small web under the joggle will aid in a better bond (Not bending under
weight).
