In addition, if you don't actually need a 64-bit kernel or WPA 
(although, support is apparently coming), then take a look at the NDIS 
wrapper at http://www.opensolaris.org/os/community/laptop/wireless/ndis/

I used this for ages on an Acer Ferrari laptop with a BCM wifi card. 
Worked a treat, if a little tricky to get the right Windows driver for 
it, and as long as I didn't need to connect with WPA. From memory, I 
recall it supports WEP, but don't quote me on that.

Just offering an alternative solution.
