Hi, Toshiba M series may be the "best" notebook for it. As far as I know, suspend/resume and sound work well on them.
By the way, if you have a Toshiba M9, in order to ensure the sound works on the machine please firstly enter the BIOS and make sure that the setting of 'Device Config' is 'All Devices', and not 'Setup by OS'.
