Hi yangrong, I was close to writing a new post about the problem of audio noise, but then I saw this post. I've a Dell Latitude E6400, equipped with a Intel HDA sound card, I've try Solaris express build 106 and now i'm using OpenSolaris 2008.11. I suppose that the problem is the same for all who use this card, not only to this laptop. I noticed that the problem occurs only when using the built-in speakers in the laptop, instead the sound is good and without noise, when I use the headphones (or external speakers). This causes another problem, to don't hear the annoying (and perhaps harmful) noise, I was forced to quickly insert the headphones jack, during every boot, because the selection of audio preferences, that exclude the sound, don't stay at reboot. It is possible that the problem is caused by excessive amplification on built-in speakers? Given the type of noise, appears to be the problem.
The output of prtconf -vp command is really long, so I wait first your response. Regards Mrejani -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
