I have a Tadpole Ultrabook IIi which I just cracked the display on.
:-( I'm willing to give it away free to a good home. It has a cracked
14" XGA (1024x768) display.
This machine is the moral equivalent of a darwin (Sun Ultra 5/10) system
(400 MHz, I think), in a mobile form factor. It has an onboard creator
graphics card, though, instead of the m64, and also has external SCSI-2
and PCMCIA (not cardbus!) ports.
(This is also the system that has just about the best keyboard I've ever
used on a laptop.)
I think it has 512MB RAM. Its custom form-factor though, so you can't
use it anywhere else.
Here's the deal:
1) If you work for Sun, just ask, and I'll send it to you.
2) If you don't work for Sun, you need to pay shipping from southern
California (I can work delivery to San Diego, or a drop off at the Sun
LA office.)
Internally, this machine has 2 bays for 2.5" notebook drives. I'll
throw in a single drive to get you started. :-) (Probably 10GB.)
External ports include:
PCMCIA:
SCSI-2;
RS-232/Parallel: (requires special adapter, and no I don't have one!)
Sun Type-5 keyboard/mouse
Sun 13W3 video
19V power input
If interested, let me know.
If I don't hear from anyone by the end of the week, it will be headed to
the e-recycle center.
