I can't help with the other stuff, but I can help here: if at all possible, forget about using the Broadcom wifi and replace the mini PCI card with an Atheros-based one. The Ferrari 3400 comes with the Broadcom wifi adapter, so I used to use ndiswrapper. It worked, but was rather flakey too. Since replacing it with a $30 Atheros card from Ebay it has worked without a hiccup, using the ath driver that comes with Nevada.
