I discovered the same set of problems the other day.

I noticed that the keyboard *is* being found in Solaris, and the HID
driver attached, and if you plug an external keyboard and press the
caps-lock key, the caps lock light on the internal keyboard is toggled
properly.

The best explanation I could find is that the Solaris HID driver
provides incomplete support of the HID 1.1 protocol, and doesn't support
something the new keyboard is doing when switched to that mode.
Interestingly the, the keyboard and trackpad provide a MID USB device,
and the trackpad seems to work perfectly - it's just the keyboard.

If the problem is the HID 1.1 thing, I wonder if it's possible to either
get the HID driver to leave the keyboard configured for the boot
protocol, or in HID 1.0 mode. Otherwise it'll need to be fixed by
extending the driver.... or I've gotten completely off track and it's
something else entirely :)
