I have an Eee PC up and running snv_79a installed on a 16 GByte SD HC card. I just hooked a USB DVD player up to the Eee PC and did the install, specifying the 16 GByte card as the boot device. Nothing else was needed (except for modifying the BIOS on the Eee PC to use the SD card instead of the internal 4 GByte SSD).
Tim forwarded me Judy's fix for the Atheros WiFi, and that worked just fine as well. NWAM got my wifi network on reboot, and things just worked. Very cool. I did change out the 512 MByte memory for a 2 GByte. Need to be careful when booting with a USB stick attached. The boot order isn't set, and the SD card ends-up loosing out to the SSD.
