Hi Casper! Well, powernowadm works fine in automatic and manual mode, but the fan is running all the time - even in state 3. Wait, sometimes it meditates for 60 seconds after booting and login. The emifreq applet indicates lowest speed and ~54 degrees C. - verified w/ powernowadm. The fan starts right after hitting ~ 50 degrees and the temperature never goes below the 50 degrees again . I'll cross-check the temperatures in windows. I tought: Let's operate w/ 400 MHz and the fan will stop in idle mode - whisfull thinking.
Maybe it's just the crappy thermal design of the Tecra M3. Under WIndows I was able to tweak the powersettings that at least in idle mode the fan is off most of the time. -best Frank This message posted from opensolaris.org
