I have similar issues on my VAIO TX. It appears that there is some sort of ACPI work required. See the following URL for the Linux work around it: http://www.linux.it/~malattia/wiki/index.php/Sony_drivers My "workaround" is to boot into either Windows (ick) or the DVD/AV mode my laptop has and set the brightness in there, and then boot into Solaris. cheers, steve -- stephen lau // stevel at sun.com | 650.786.0845 | http://whacked.net opensolaris // solaris kernel development
