I'm using a modified version of J?rgenKeil's TOOLSps2w-1.6in-kernel drivers and "vuidalp2" works fine on my VAIO SZ laptop with an ALPS touchpad and external USB mice, I suspect the "vuidsyn" synaptics driver will work too. You need to replace the entries for "vuid3ps2" in /etc/dacf.conf. The original driver and i386 binaries are at http://www.tools.de/opensource/solaris/ps2wheel/ My copy has a modified vuidalp2 (and includes amd64 binaries) http://trisk.acm.jhu.edu/TOOLSps2w-1.6-trisk.tar.bz2 -Albert
