yea, i had thought about replacing the mini-PCI, but i didn't want to tear this new laptop apart-- my dell you have to take the bezel and keyboard off to get to the wireless card. but per your suggestion i took a closer look and saw the wireless was quite accessable, so i tried swapping the card with my dell (iwi2200). it let me install the iwi package and wificonfig saw the card and was able to scan and show wireless networks, but i could not connect to any of them. it kept saying failed to connect.
i don't know why its not connecting with that card as snv_35 or so worked fine on the dell with that card. so i went ahead and ordered a CM9 from yellowbloc as suggested above. thanks for the help! This message posted from opensolaris.org
