[ forwarding my mail to casper to the forum because I forgot to do a
reply-all.
following is the current status. Will update the forum once the issue is
fixed. ]
Casper,
Thanks for your prompt response.
Last few hours of further googling suggested that my problem is similar to:
http://www.daniweb.com/techtalkforums/thread26110.html
means the issue could be more with corrupt BIOS or dead memory.
I also tried the options like removing battery etc. It didn't help.
The system doesn't have a reset button.
At this time, I need to explore the faulty Memory/BIOS route to
troubleshoot. I will keep the forum posted about the progress, in
about a week.
The only reason why I suspected frkit is that once I added the
battery montor to the gnome panel, removed the power card and
started moving in a wireless enabled floor, the system froze.
While rebooting the system with a hard power on, I experienced
the said problem for the first time. May be it is just a coincidence
that frkit is very recently installed.
As I said, I will keep the forum posted.
Regards,
- Raju
