I initially installed from the first GA release 118844-11, worked great (no
errors or warnings). Upgraded 118844-20, still worked. Upgraded to 118844-21
and saw a boot warning about "bios errata 109", but it still worked. Tried
118844-30 and got a brick for the effort. Tried to install 0106 release and the
install just freezes with gibberish on the screen. Spun up a 0106 install via
VMWare on another AMD machine (proved it works on a third) and attempted to run
it on the zv6100 and it again warns about bios errata 109, but at least it
boots to 32 bit mode. I think HP could fixit with a bios upgrade, but Intel
seems to be blocking that. The newer Solaris kernels are using more of the AMD
instruction set and exposing issues that should be fixed in the bios. With the
0106 install, now I am also seeing the bios warning 109 on an Asus-A8V with an
Opteron-150. Again no bios upgrade available. Is there a way to make Solaris
more tolerant of nearly new, but obsoleted by Solaris hardware?
