Now that I've got your attention
use
/usr/X11R6/bin/Xorg
instead of just
X
like
/* vvvvvvvvv USE THIS vvvvvvvvvvv */
/usr/X11R6/bin/Xorg -config /xorg.conf.new
/* ^^^^^^^^^ USE THAT ^^^^^^^^^^^ */
and I guarantee it will work if your config file is okay.
