I installed 2008.05 and then upgraded to 98 via ips. This was working
fantabulously :)

Before I can use skype and matlab on a Linux zone, I need to get the
sound working. So I waited for the hdaudio driver from opensound
system. It passed all the tests and I could hear sound from both
speakers ... Only to reboot with infinite panic!

Rebooted normally (no config option)

I don't see a failsafe menu on grub!
I tried -F on the bootfs line. Didn't work.
