I have a similar problem with a Lattitude D630. This machine includes a
BCM5755M NIC. I have downloaded the Broadcom driver as it appears in the HCL
http://www.sun.com/bigadmin/hcl/data/components/details/2924.html but I have
the same behavior. I saw from an snoop output that the interface never sends
the DHCPREQUEST request, I think that's why it doesn't acquire any address. I
have tested also with static IP address but I had the same results you are
seeing. Actually, I sent an email to the nwam list but I have not hear any
feedback.
