So it figures... I finally get a driver built w/ the ndiswrapper for my wireless card, it sees the network and now that the WLAN is configure as WEP, it even connects and gets me online. However, now the damn machine reboots with no warning and for no apparent reason after sitting idle for about 3-4 minutes. Note - it only reboots if I logon and connect to the WLAN. If I leave it at the logon prompt, it does not reboot.
And here I thought I had it all working... :( Anyone care to tell me if there's and way to find out why it's rebooting. Are there logs I can check? -Z -----Original Message----- From: Renee Danson [mailto:renee.dan...@sun.com] Sent: Wednesday, July 23, 2008 11:50 AM To: Mr. Z Cc: Mikore.Li at sun.com; laptop-discuss at opensolaris.org; 'James Carlson' Subject: Re: [laptop-discuss] FW: [osol-discuss] New to Solaris On Wed, Jul 23, 2008 at 10:06:40AM -0700, Mr. Z wrote: > I was able to get the nwam pop-up to work. A minute or so later, the nwam pop-up reappears. Yeah, it's not very informative (we're working on that!); but that behavior probably means that it failed to connect to the selected wlan; and given Michael's report about support for WPA in the driver, that's a reasonable assumption. If you would like to see more detail, you could try turning on nwam debugging (see step 5 on http://opensolaris.org/os/project/nwam/phase0/troubleshooting/); the debug messages should indicate more specifically what happened when nwam attempted to connect. -renee > I have a second AP on a separate firewalled network segment that I can > configure with WEP for now.
