Hi all, I just experienced $subject under these circumstances: - Nevada b79 - IBM/lenovo thinkpad T60p - interface: e1000g0 (works) - profile: DHCP - apparently, DHCP server and/or NIS server are a bit loaded ...
I'd been rebooting the laptop a few times, and normally used the DHCP-NoNIS profile, which I had in the inetmenu-startup file. Since I'm in a NIS environment today (ie on SWAN), I wanted to test the DHCP profile, so I changed the startup file and rebooted. I'd seen timeouts trying to get a DHCP address before reported by inetmenu. Upon reboot, Inetmenu reported "nis domain ..." twice, and then just hung - I waited several minutes. I then forcefully rebooted the machine, booted into failsafe mode and reverted to DHCP-NoNIS, which worked fine. is this a known issue? Michael This message posted from opensolaris.org
