i stick these on laptops (with +s permissions) in a folder called '/scripts' 
and 'ln -s' them into /usr/bin (without the .sh extensions) so that normal 
users can run them.

i have another couple of scripts called 'wired' and 'wireless' but since the 
wireless one has the WEP key encoded in it, i think i'll decline to put it 
online :)
