I have an Orinoco Gold PCMCIA 11b Card. Like the gentlehuman above me, it works
on the orinoco driver on Linux. The card plumbs, the light goes on, but when I
look at /etc/driver_alias, I see nothing that looks remotely like a value=n.
And I don't seem to connect to the network. Although one of the lights on the
card flickers like it's communicating with networks. There are two pcwl entries
in /etc_driver_alias: pcwl "pccard156,2" and pcwl "pccardb,7300". I feel like
I'm at an impasse.
Here's what I've done:
bash-3.00# ifconfig pcwl0 plumb
bash-3.00# wificonfig -i pcwl0 createprofile essid=linksys encryption=wep
wepkey1=nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn
bash-3.00# wificonfig -i pcwl0 connect linksys
bash-3.00# ifconfig pcwl0 dhcp

This is driving me crazy. It seems like I'm there--connectus interuptus--but I
can't get over the hump. Also, shouldn't there be a file somewhere named
linksys? Oh yeah, and I don't see "pccard156,2" in prtconf.
I'd appreciate any kind of help.
Brian
