I think the pcpw driver in OpenSolaris either currently supports or will
soon support the miniPCI prism. (There were issues with it the last
time I looked, but I've had some communication with the author of pcpw.
I wrote a closed-source Solaris PRISM 2.5 driver we offer at Tadpole
with our hardware. We currently do not offer it except with our
hardware, but I'm hoping I'll be able to provide the source under an OSS
license soon.)

There is an excellent chance that you can replace the PRISM with an
Atheros miniPCI card. This would give better support, and better
performance as well. It will also let you use WPA, which I'm not sure
that you will be able to do with the pcpw driver. (Certainly, the PRISM
hardware lacks cryptographic hardware for certain parts of WPA and WPA2.)
