Sanjay,

Thanks for the pointer - I've installed in on an IBM T43p.
It works with an IBM Cardbus firewire card and a Plextor
PX-716UF (both Firewire and USB/2 interfaces to the drive).

However, when I hot plugged an IBM (atheros) Cardbus
802.11abg card, I got a freeze and an automatic reboot.
I rebooted with the card in but got a string of errors on
the boot console and it rebooted again automatically.
I pulled the card.

The same card works in an older IBM A21p with TI
Cardbus chipsets but only in the top slot as ath1.

When I hot plugged a (know to work with older versions
of Solaris x86) TDK Global Freedom 5660 PCMCIA modem,
it was recognized but a 'tip pc0' resulted in a "connected"
message and a hard freeze :-( . I pulled the card without
effect so I held the power button down until the machine
powered off.

I rebooted which stopped with complaints and did a
safe boot as it suggested. After a fsck and fixing things,
it booted normally (or at least it appears that way).

I tried hot plugging the Firewire card into the Cardbus
slots in the Docking station but that didn't work. I know
the slots in the dock work as they have been used with
Windows XP (and used to work with the Lynnsoft Cardbus
drivers and an IBM A21p running Solaris 10 before the
new ddi stuff broke Lynnsoft). I did some testing with
SunRay server with that machine using the Cardbus
interface as the SunRay private network. I was hoping
to try the same with the T43p but that gets to wait ...

Thanks for the work on pushing forward Solaris x86
and specifically notebook friendly stuff.

Stuart
