Approved. Probably this should be part of the console protocol though. If the clear operation went back through the debugger, it would have a chance to flush it's object cache (on the assumption that once the output is cleared, there is nothing to click on to inspect objects any more). I suppose you could have written down an object ID on paper and expect it to stay around...
