There's a project lps4biz: "RIA for OFBiz using Laszlo Presentation Server". The description on their home page https:// lps4biz.dev.java.net/ says: "This project provides a set of tools that ease the development of OFBiz applications. The tools includes a template driven generator that generates Java sources as well as Flash UI components from OFBiz entity definition (XML). The generator exploits the entity patterns used in the OFBiz project. The UI components are target for the Laszlo Presentation Server."

I'm not familiar with them beyond the announcement and the description on the web page, but it looks like it could be a good match. I'd encourage you to get in touch with them if you haven't already.

Best,
Oliver

There is a group of us that develop web applications with the open
source project, Open For Business (www.ofbiz.org). We are interested
in using Laszlo to create custom UI components for some ERP/CRM like
applications. We have already started to develop some of these
components but wondered if anyone else in the community is doing the
same. We would like to avoid duplicating efforts and would rather
collaborate with some other developers on building these components.

Here is an example of a component that we use all the time:

< Simple Grid showing records >

<Simple form with data filled in dynamically by selections in the grid above>

Many ERP/CRM like application use similar forms like the one above.
We would like to create simple widgets that we could use and configure
based on the data for the application.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this subject or is aware of
development efforts in this area?

Thanks in advance for your comments.
