Hey all, Someone mentioned States (http://www.laszlosystems.com/lps-3.2/docs/guide/states.html) in the Laszlo on Rails email group, and it got me to thinking about how to manage flow between views in an OpenLaszlo application. I am about to roll up my sleeves and dive into my first non-trivial Laszlo app, and I know I wil be hitting this within hours.
Are States the preferred way to handle managing state in a Laszlo app? You know what I mean -- 1. user clicks on whatever 2. whatever expands into the "active view" 3. user does stuff with new active view 4. user clicks elsewhere 5. active view is queried on whether it can yield the focus (maybe something is not saved) 6. user goes to next view What I have seen of Laszlo is very loosely coupled. I guess I am thinking of the beginnings of an application framework within Laszlo. In the Rails sense of an app framework, not the Struts sense. :) Mike Pence Laszlo on Rails (Coming to the first International Rails Conference, "Beyond DHTML: Introducing Laszlo on Rails" http://railsconf.org/talks/selected/show/86) _______________________________________________ Laszlo-user mailing list [email protected] http://www.openlaszlo.org/mailman/listinfo/laszlo-user
