Hi Tiago,
You can wait for <drawview>, or you can help us debug browser-
specific issues. FF1.5/2.0 should be relatively under control, but we
could use some attention on Safari and IE.
An <svg> tag is not a bad idea, but with the big caveat that it can't
be a completely cross-runtime solution, so it wouldn't be part of the
OpenLaszlo "core" language. There's been discussion of a <html> tag
as well, for runtimes (like DHTML) that can host a full HTML 4.0
rendering environment; providing an <svg> tag in addition for SVG-
enabled runtimes would be a natural extension along those lines.
If you are interested in helping out, that'd be great! I think Max
Carlson has done some thinking about <html>, and is also the one
doing most of the <drawview> work. I've CC'd him on this email.
Thanks!

Hello,
Great news :) although :
"Drawview
Applications which use <drawview> will probably not work well in
all runtimes yet. It is probably too soon to start porting
applications that use <drawview>. We advise waiting until Beta 2.
The <drawview> tag is only supported in Firefox. Some <drawview>
methods work in Safari but we do not have a qualified list."
That's a big thing for me and Mai'Nada Projects ( http://
www.mainada.net/comicssketch and http://www.mainada.net/
inputdraw).. but we'll wait :D
Just one proposal. What about a <svgview> ? Svg is a standard and
being use nowadays in firefox, many sites start to use it for layout.
It would be great for look and feel, as a view could have a complex
layout easily.
I can help with the specifications or any other thing I can.
Great work!
Take care,

It is with great pleasure that we announce the availability of
OpenLaszlo 4.0 B1. This is the first development release of the new
multi-runtime edition of OpenLaszlo, complete with a brand new
native browser DHTML runtime, a heavily revamped Flash runtime, and
much more.
The downloads are available here, the release notes are here, and
you can play with the live bits here. Please do try out the release
and let us know what you think! This is a first beta, so expect a
few bumps as you port your OpenLaszlo 3.x app or begin a fresh OL4
app. You'll find a few challenges in B1 even with the Flash
runtime, but the best way to speed delivery of a solid, production-
ready release is to try out B1, file the bugs you find, and work
with us. We're eager to hear your impressions and improve this new
version of the platform. So please post on the forum and on the
laszlo-user mailing list, and file your bugs in JIRA.
Thanks!
