I thought Laszlo developers might enjoy seeing the Ghost 'Global Hosted
Operating SysTem' - a web desktop/operating system with a pure-Laszlo client
(plus some iFrames) - a proof-of-concept is now live at http://G.ho.st and
we are publicly launching in April. I am posting this to the -user and -dev
lists (apologies for the duplication but both seem relevant) to get feedback
on whether people would like us to contribute some of our components and
whether people might be interested in us publishing their Laszlo programs on
our desktop.

We might be interested in donating some components if there is serious
interest in incorporating them into Laszlo or into the incubator and are
looking for feedback. Components include (a) internationalization (b) our
own look & feel (c) misc. new components or improvements e.g.:
* The auto-complete used to type in the country (choose Free registration,
non-US address and start typing your country - it performs way better than
the combo)
* Our text element which is internationalized and can instantly switch
language and can also update its font, font size and font color based on
global preferences (try the demo account, right-click on the background and
play with the Preferences)
* Our window which has different resources to the Laszlo window and extra
functionality like the minimize/maximize buttons.
* Other components like button etc. etc. which support our
internationalization and our own look & feel.
* Components for forms with immediate validation of individual fields as in
our user registration form

We are trying to work out how best to contribute these components given that
we would love them to be fully incorporated into Laszlo but I'm not sure we
have someone available to document these components to the Laszlo standards
and to provide support...

Conversely we are wondering if Laszlo developers see Ghost as a fun channel
for publishing widgets and applications they create...

Feedback welcome

Zvi
