What problems did you run into incorporating comples SWFs into your Laszlo apps? I can see problems if your Flash-generated SWFs use _root or _global references that conflict with the ones in OpenLaszlo-generated SWFs.

I worked on several medium-sized projects (with OLS 3.1, I believe) where a significant portion of the functionality was done in Flash and Laszlo was used successfully to tie it all together.

Need more info. :)

I've been building a big mix of internal apps and customer products with OpenLaszlo for the past few months - I'm far more comfortable writing most of my apps in OL than I ever was in Flash.

I just came across something I had taken for granted would just work all along, but never had cause to try (or even read the relevant documentation) until now. Using OL 4, I figured incorporating any SWF was as simple as loading it into a <view>... after banging my head for a few minutes mystified why some SWFs just worked, and others gave a compile error, I note the caveats in the docs about SWFs with ActionScript.

So I can accept the way things are... but is this inherent in some way to the OL design and so may always be an issue, or is it going to be possible someday to incorporate SWFs with any/all features assuming you compile to a compatible SWF target?

Too vague?
