Remember that Mozilla Spidermonkey (libmozjs, /usr/bin/smjs) isn't in the Ubuntu archive from lucid onwards either. The Ubuntu Mozilla team decided to stop packaging it because Mozilla wouldn't maintain a stable ABI for libmozjs. https://launchpad.net/bugs/536950 Max.
