Hi everyone, I am happy to announce that Launchpad and its supporting systems are now running on Python 2.6. That includes libraries, supporting scripts on devpad, and deployments such as dogfood. (praseodymium still needs to support Python 2.5 for a while longer, but the only people who work on the relevant code are Gary and myself.)
All of your code can now take full advantage of Python 2.6 features such as named tuples, 'Exception as e', context managers, binary literals, and str.format(). A lot of very, very nice changes landed in Python 2.6. As a refresher, here is a well-laid out reference document with all of the 2.6-specific changes colour-coded for easy reading: Python 2.6 Quick Reference http://rgruet.free.fr/PQR26/PQR2.6.html And the ever-popular official "What’s New in Python 2.6": http://docs.python.org/whatsnew/2.6.html Happy hacking!
