So, launchpad-reviewers is subscribed w/mail to every trunk branch we have.
Its also the team that code reviewers are in. bzr has recently refactored its subscriptions to give folk a little more control, and I'd like to do the same for LP; The -reviewers internal list is a cause of backscatter for some reviewers, and AFAICT it has two uses: - folk can choose not to be subscribed to it (and only get direct notifications) - we get an archive For the latter purpose, google indexes the merge proposals (it may lose historic ones but only because we hide their urls; easy fixed). For the former, I think removing the contact address *and* unsubscribing the team from trunk branches would allow folk to be a reviewer and not get every single mail that comes through... we can create a new team 'launchpad-codereview-subscribers' which has a subscription to all series branches, with mail turned on, and let folk join that if they want. These three changes will: - eliminate the remaining source of backscatter - while still allowing folk to get the mail or not as they choose. Alternatively, we can keep one team but replace the contact address with an LP hosted team, which will also allow folk to be subscribed-or-not but avoid the backscatter problem (because if the mail is accepted by LP it will be accepted by the list). -Rob _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~launchpad-dev Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~launchpad-dev More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
