The current "text-mode" for bugs in launchpad should be enough to grab the relevant information, so no extra work seems to be needed there. What remains to be discussed is how launchpad can show "relevant forum threads". I suggested using standard "tags" in the forum, so maybe filtering by tags and parsing that information to get thread titles and links would work. I really don't know what goes on in launchpad development, but from a web-developer stand view, this doesn't seem like it needs too much work since it would integrate existing features.
