Sounds like a fine idea to me, and should be very little work to
implement.

Yes, it's a useful idea we've discussed for a while.
It seems like a completely different matter, though, unrelated to the
changelog functionality being discussed in this thread. Or have I missed
something?

Every day we run an automatic checker on all mirrors, to see if the mirror
is accessible and what content it mirrors. Only mirrors which are
accessible
and have some content are included in that listing.
In this case what happened was that the checker only got timeouts and 503
responses [1] from br.archive.ubuntu.com on May 25th, thus causing it to
be
removed from that list. Right after that we had some issues and the
checker
didn't run until May 29th [2], so the mirror was kept out of that list for
longer than it should. As you can see now, the mirror is showing up on
that
list again as it has succeded in the last three checks.
BTW, we have a way of notifying mirror owners when the automatic check
fail
on their mirrors, but it's currently disabled. Would you like to receive
these sorts of email notifications?

The freshness is obtained from our automatic checker, which is run only
once a day. Sometimes the checker is run a few minutes before the mirror
is synced against archive.ubuntu.com, thus making the freshness innacurate
shortly after the checker finishes. I don't think there's much we can do
to alleviate this other than running the checker multiple times every day
(something that may annoy some mirror admins and maybe even trigger
anti-DoS scripts on some of them). If you have any ideas on how to improve
that, please let us know. :)

Yes, I noticed. Thanks for the explanation.

Yes, please. Of course we notice when our machine stops working but
the outside check is essential to point out network problems.

In this case it should say one day behind at most but when I looked it
was saying 3 days behind. That's why I complained. I've just checked
again and it's one day, so it's normal now.

Once a day is fine for me.
Thanks for the answers.

Hi there, the main differences are that Ubuntu uses
Gnome<http://www.gnome.org/>by default and Kubuntu uses
KDE. <http://www.kde.org/>
It's basically that.

I've tried to use launchpad to report that:
1. Evolution > Help > Help contents produces no response.
2. F1 (should be the same) produces no response.
3. No reason is given for either (lack of) behavior.
Launchpad runs me in circles, repeatedly demands that I log in, and
there is no reason given for that either.
Perhaps the last problem has been resolved (if you receive this).

I cannot speak of the last problem, but see you have discovered an open
bug in Evolution
https://bugs.launchpad.net/evolution/+bug/76004
In the mean time, you can read the help document by opening help from
the panel
1. System > Help & Support.
2. Search for evolution.
3. Choose the User Guide.
