My membership was also refused when I tried to join.
Only after I changed my Nick to the name I currently use on LP, it was accepted.

The fact that it shows a name and not my usual nick on LP, as several times 
made my (true life) friends ask me why I had that there.
My answer: "LP requires me to, so I can use LP beta/edge".

Is it any way better?


To me, my nick is my web identity, and it has been that way for many years.
I see no need to change that, and I dont plan to do it any time soon.
If LP admins really plan to require all users to have their real names ( to 
access any part of it ), then I expect that EVERY user obey it, or I'll be 
forced to remove myself of LP beta/edge team.
