I have not changed the base address of LPT1, and i found the issue is due to LPT1 setting. The BIOS of the old pc is set as: LPT1 mode: ECP+EPP ECP mode: DMA 3 The new one cannot be set to such condition, i tried it with different conditions: LPT1 mode: ECP (with DMA3 or DMA1 or OFF) LPT1 mode: AT LPT1 mode: PS/2 LPT1 mode: EPP and there is no use. I tried scanner connected to pc by LPT1, the old pc can work for scaner, two new pc cannot work with it! The FAE told me some new PC do have some problem with old instruments! I feel some NI's driver will cannot work on Dell's new PC. Thanks a lot!
